Not all timber is created equal, and where it comes from matters. Wadsworth works with Australian-grown timber, including native hardwoods like Blackbutt, Brushbox and Cypress Pine, across our frames, trusses and joinery, prioritising local stock over cheaper imported alternatives that can compromise strength and consistency.
Built for the Australian climate. Timber is one of the most sustainable, environmentally friendly building materials available, and Australian-grown timber is specifically suited to local conditions, from coastal humidity to inland heat.
A natural, non-toxic material. Unlike many manufactured building products, timber doesn't leak chemicals into your home. It's safe to handle and safe to live around.
Naturally corrosion-resistant. Timber doesn't corrode in salt air or around heavy industry, unlike steel and many other structural materials, a genuine advantage for coastal builds throughout the Wollongong region and beyond.
Termite-treated for peace of mind. All timber used in our builds is specially treated to resist and repel termites, backed by a 25-year guarantee.
A natural insulator. Timber's cellular structure contains air pockets that create a natural thermal barrier against outside heat and cold. Our frames also have open sections that allow extra insulation to be added without increasing wall thickness.
Renewable and environmentally responsible. As a renewable resource, timber remains one of the most environmentally sound choices in construction, and all timber we use is sourced from suppliers who comply with Australian and international sustainability regulations.
